Rwanda welcomes Catholic Pilgrims
The first ever group of Catholic pilgrims from Goa, the former portugese colony now a part of India, recently visited the pilgrimage site of Kibeho in Rwanda — site of the visions of Our Lady of Kibeho — to pray and worship.
The visions appeared to several adolescents in the 1980s, communicating various messages to the schoolchildren, including, according to some interpretations, possibly foretelling the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. Though there were many such visions at the time, only the visions of the first three students (Alphonsine, Nathalie, and Marie Claire aged 17, 20 and 21) received local Bishop Augustin Misago’s solemn approval.
