Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Ahmedabad

Welcome to Ahmedabad! Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Known for its dynamic growth, Ahmedabad combines modernity with traditional charm. The city offers a perfect blend of historical landmarks and contemporary architecture. Spend your evening settling in and preparing for the journey ahead.

Day 2 – Ahmedabad 

Your guided walking tour begins at the picturesque Swaminarayan Mandir in Kalupur. Explore the charming lanes of the Old City, where you’ll discover the magnificent Jumma Masjid, intricately carved havelis (villas), and exquisite Hindu and Jain temples. Parts of the Old City were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites, providing a fascinating glimpse into Ahmedabad’s rich past. Visit Sabarmati Ashram, once home to Mahatma Gandhi, to deepen your understanding of India’s history.

Day 3 – Adalaj

Venture to the  Adalaj step-well, an architectural gem built in 1499 by Queen Rudabai. Marvel at the fine carvings depicting birds, flowers, and leaves that adorn the step-well’s walls. This historic site was once a stop for travelers, offering rest and refreshments on their journey.

Day 4 – Ahmedabad / Lothal / Velavadar Blackbuck Park

Visit the ancient city of Lothal, an Indus Valley civilization site, where you’ll find some of the finest examples of maritime architecture from the ancient world. Continue to Velavadar Blackbuck National Park, where you can spot diverse wildlife, including Blackbucks, Indian Grey Wolves, Striped Hyenas, Indian Foxes, and over 140 species of birds.

Day 5 – Blackbuck Park / Palitana / Sasangir

Climb the 3500 steps to the stunning Palitana, one of the holiest Jain pilgrimage sites. Or, take a palanquin ride to the top for a more leisurely journey! Continue to Sasan Gir National Park, the only place outside of Africa where you can see Asiatic lions in their natural habitat.  Enjoy the rest of your leisurely evening with a dinner at your hotel.

Day 6 – Sasangir

Spend your day in Gir National Park, renowned for its incredible lion population. With over 300 Asiatic lions, this park provides a great opportunity for these rare sightings, alongside other wildlife, such as the Indian Leopard and Striped Hyena.

Day 7 – Sasangir / Junagadh / Gondal / Rajkot

Drive through Saurashtra, stopping at Junagadh to explore the city’s vibrant bazaars and historic monuments. Continue to Gondal, a town steeped with royal heritage and social reform. Your day concludes in Rajkot, a charming town with a rich legacy where you will find your overnight accommodations.

Day 8 – Rajkot / Bhuj

Depart for Bhuj, located in the Kutch region. Explore the Bhuj Palace which bears the marks of the massive earthquake, and admire the intricate wooden latticework of the Zenana Mahal. Bhuj offers a fascinating mix of culture, history, and art.

Day 9 – Bhuj / Raan of Kutch

This morning, explore the Rann of Kutch, a vast salt desert known for its mesmerizing beauty. Visit traditional villages, where you can interact with the tribal communities and shop for stunning handicrafts. The expansive white desert offers a surreal and tranquil experience.

Day 10 – Bhuj / Dasada

Depart for Dasada, home to the Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary. Embark on a thrilling ride into the park, where you’ll see the resilient Wild Ass and a variety of bird species in this harsh yet captivating landscape.

Day 11 – Dasada / Ahmedabad

Journey back to Ahmedabad for your final evening, where the vibrant culture and rich history of Gujarat will leave a lasting impression.
