Accra – Cape Coast – Kumasi – Volta Region – Mole National Park

Start with a tour of the capital city Accra before heading to Cape Coast and Elmina Castles/dungeons. These sites, vital to the booming slave trade are steeped in history. Then onto Kumasi, where you will experience tree canopy walks in Kakum Forest. You will be immersed deep in Ashanti territory as you visit the village of Torgorme and onward to Akosombo. To end on a high note, you will visit the famous Mole National Park for some relaxation and wild life viewing all the while enjoying luxury at an eco-lodge.

Day 1 Arrive in Accra, Ghana

Akwaaba! (welcome) to Accra- the legislative and commercial capital of Ghana where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day to relax and recover from the flight.

Day 2 Accra City Tour

Depart for a sightseeing tour of Accra. This 131-year old city has a blend of colonial and modern architecture that summarize her history. Other highlights include the W. E. B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence / Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and the Artist Alliance Gallery to admire and purchase authentic African paintings and other professional art works.

Day 3 Accra- Cape Coast- Castles & Slave Dungeons

Visit the infamous forts, castles and slave Dungeons of Ghana. History will unfold the story of the slave trade whose impact is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Visit the Cape Coast and Elmina Castles.

Day 4 Cape Coast- Kumasi

Visit Kakum Forest for a tree canopy walk experience before leaving for Kumasi. This is the seat of the Ashanti Empire whose legacies are still evident today. Stop at the national Cultural Center various studios of the brass makers, potters and batik makers.

Day 5 Kumasi- Ashanti Craft Village

After the sensational naming ceremony amidst drumming and dancing in your honor, choose among embarking on an event village tour of Torgorme, participate in a passionate do-it- yourself session on pottery making or an educative kente cloth weaving session.

Day 6 Kumasi- Akosombo

Stop in Ejisu Besease to visit an Ashanti ancestral shrine built in the traditional vernacular. You will also hear an oral account f the Ashanti history as told by a knowledgeable traditional priest.

Day 7 Akosombo – Accra

Attend a traditional spiritual and traditional naming ceremony led by a procession to the palace grounds by the local village. You will be given a traditional African name. Continue to Accra.

Day 8, 9 & 10 Mole National Park

Fly to the famous Mole National Park for 3 nights of relaxation and a safari adventure. The largest park in Ghana, this area boasts of herds of elephants, antelope, baboons, kudu, water buck and the elusive leopard and lions and over one hundred species of birds. Take a drive with a professional wild life guide or if you feel more adventurous, go on a walking safari and get close to nature!

Fly to Accra and connect to your flight home.
