Delhi – Jaipur – Agra – Lucknow– Varanasi

Start with a tour of Delhi, before you continue on to the luscious, “pink city” of Jaipur, taking time to visit not only forts and palaces but the fascinating Jantar Mantar Observatory, a scientific phenomenon of its era. Your next stop is Agra, the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Your city tour of Agra will showcase many great examples of spectacular Mughal architecture. Your journey will continue by road to the romantic city of Lucknow. Immerse yourself in the ancient (and holiest) city of Varanasi, with a visit to Samath where Buddha first preached; and spend the evening witnessing an Aarti (prayer) ceremony on the Ganges River, with thousands of others. Experience a morning boat ride, as the city awakens, before ending your vacation back in Delhi.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

Namaste! Welcome to India! You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Delhi- the capital of India is one of India’s most beautiful and vibrant cities. Relax after your long journey.

Day 2: Delhi

Depart for a full day of sightseeing, starting with a visit to Jama Masjid mosque, past Red Fort, Chandini Chowk and the bazaars, past India Gate, the Presidential Palace, Parliament house. Later in the afternoon visit the Qutab Minar and lastly the mausoleum of Emperor Humayun.

Day 3: Delhi-Jaipur

Drive to Rajasthan arriving in Jaipur also known as the Pink city in the afternoon.

Day 4: Jaipur

Enjoy breakfast followed by sightseeing of Jaipur, starting with a visit to Amber Fort and The Hawa Mahal. Return to Jaipur to see the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, the observatory.

Day 5: Jaipur-Agra

Drive to Agra, located on the banks of the Yamuna River and home to the famous Taj Mahal.

Day 6: Lucknow

Early visit to the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue later to the Agra Fort, a great example of spectacular Mughal architecture. Visit Diwan-i-am, the Khas Palace and Sheesh Mahal as well as Jahani Mahal, Jahangiri Mahal and Akhbari Mahal inside the Fort.

Afternoon you will be driven to Lucknow.

Lucknow, is the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and located between Agra and Varanasi. The city has
an amazing sense of style, an elegance that comes from years of leading a good life and indulgence in the
pursuance of art and literature.

Day 7: In Lucknow

Guided tour of Lucknow. As one of the primary seats of the British as well as home of local Nawabs and Hindu Kings, this city has an ancient and rich history.

Day 8: Varanasi

Depart for Varanasi, India’s holiest city situated on the north bank of Ganges. It is one of the oldest living cities of the world with its history dating back to about 3500 hundred years. Numbered amongst the holiest of cities for Hindus, this place is on the top of the Hindu pilgrimage sites.

Day 9: In Varanasi

Sunrise boat ride on the Ganges The silence of the morning is broken by bells tolling in temples as they ring in a new day. Visit Sarnath. This is where Gautam Buddha first preached. Currently it is a deer park and has the Dhamekh Stupa, which houses a museum on Buddha, his life and religion (closed on Fridays)

Day 10: Varanasi – Delhi - Depart

Board your flight to Delhi. On arrival check in at the airport hotel where a room is reserved until departure.
