Constantia Wine Region

Stellenbosch and Franschoek are the iconic and more well-known wine making regions of South Africa’s Western Cape. As one rides along oak lines roads and through an endless patchwork of vineyards, you begin to get a sense of the beauty of the valley. Historically the Franschoek Valley has been the place for visitors to savor wines and delight themselves in culinary experiences. This is our classic wine and bike experiences.

Day 1 Cape Town

Arrive in Cape Town, aka The Mother City and transfer to your hotel for city orientation
and wine sampling.

Day 2 Cape Point

Explore the most beautiful peninsula on the African continent on a full day tour that
includes whale watching, penguin colonies, Cape Point, quaint fishing villages and
outstanding seafood. Revel in the vibrancy of Cape Town’s restaurants and nightlife at the world famous.

Day 3 Constantia

After a complete biking and safety briefing, a full day cycling tour of the iconic Constantia wine region awaits navigated along dusty farm roads and oak lined avenues. Sample banner wines from the Cape’s oldest & most preeminent estates, including Napoleon Bonaparte’s favorite Vin de Constance.

Day 4 Stellenbosch

Depart Cape Town for Stellenbosch, a vibrant university town at the heart of the wine region known as ‘The City of Oaks’. Half day cycling tour of the Durbanville Hills appelation. Tucked away behind the Tygerberg Hills, Sauvignon Blanc reigns supreme in this region thanks to cool ocean breezes from the adjacent Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy a vineyard foodie lunch overlooking the vineyards and mountains.

Day 5 Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch’s myriad valleys are home to South African wine “Royalty” and we spend a full day cycling the Cape’s first and largest wine route. Enjoy private tutored tastings with some of the country’s most iconic winemakers. Cycle hidden valleys and sample gourmet food produced and sourced locally.

Day 6 Franschhoek

Franschhoek is the Gastro capital of South Africa, a charming village set in a magnificent dead end valley with sweeping vistas. The valley floor provides excellent biking opportunities and we off road between vineyards ranging from prominent world renowned brands to deeply personal cult cellars.

Day 7 Cape Town Depart

Transfer to Cape Town and depart the wine region…although we fully expect you will extend your stay and continue your adventure with a much deserved safari adventure at a magnificent private game reserve.
